Gallup loves us!

Last night we were supposed to sleep near the Grand Canyon; Gallup decided that it loved us too much and called us back to New Mexico. Gallup also had a strange way of bringing us back, it blew up one of our back tires! We were just entering Arizona when our back tire blew up and took lots of other stuff with it! I was sitting in between Mom and Dad in the front of the RV reading a book to them on Mom’s new Kindle. All of a sudden we heard a BOOM!!! POP!!! that sounded just like it did in the movies or games when you blew up a tire. I then looked back and saw smoke gushing out from under the fridge into Jonathan’s face (Jonathan likes to play his DS right in front of the fridge). We pulled over and looked around. There was an explosion area around the popped tire and I mentioned to dad, “Well, the family vacation has now started. He He.”

We slowly picked up the wreckage and I mentioned that some smoke came out from under the fridge, than mom found out the fridge was busted. Seems like the loads of wires that was torn out was connecting to the fridge, step, and maybe some other things we haven’t found yet. If you want to know what our RV looks like right now, I will describe it. Our RV looks like a regular yellow Yellowstone 30 footer except for the broken step, bent exhaust pipe, ghetto style wire style (it is powering the fridge until we get some place to really work on it), and a back tire that is smaller than all the others (the spare tire was smaller than what it should have been.)

Lets just say that we have had a rough time, but hey as we say, “Our family vacation doesn’t start till something gets broken!” I guess we were lucky because it started on the second day from being away from our house. Everyone is still in a good mood, Dad has done a very good job of not letting this problem get in the way of having fun. You should read his blog, it is very funny and shows what he thinks of this situation. We DID get to stay in a nice RV park and charge everything up though. We also were allowed to take showers without worrying about the water to run out. I got to charge everything last night to be ready for today! Last night all three of my brothers were playing Pirates of the Caribbean Life, Joshua was Jack Sparrow, Daniel was Commodore Norington, and Jonathan was Pintle or something like that. Jonathan (13) ended up with the Black Pearl first, than Joshua (7) raided and won the Peal back from Jonathan (Josh is Jack Sparrow so the Black Peal IS his) but then later Jonathan got Joshua drunk (it was on a card) and traded ships with him. Then Daniel (6) raided Jonathan and got the Black Peal. In the end the youngest got the Peal. Joshua won with $15,850, Daniel with $12,800, Jonathan with $100. I guess the oldest lost all to the younger pirates.

This morning was fun as well, I woke up to Joshua asking “Can I play Pokemon?” I got up and got him his new Pearl version to play. For breakfast Joshua had rice crispies with some berries in it, mom put some honey on it instead of sugar and Josh said, “YUMMY!!!” than he tasted it and said “YUCKY!” I told him if he didn’t finish his food, I would play MY pokemon game and he would be left without anything to play. We left the park a little while ago and are now parked in front of this tire place so we could get some new tires.

FW: We're on the Road Again!!

Hey everybody! It’s me again!

My family and I are going on a road trip again. This time we are focusing on hiking and getting lots of outside time. At the moment we are driving to a town called Gallop, NM. I am going to take lots of pictures because if I am going to be a good part of my dad’s company, I need to be good at something. I am going for animation; animated videos, sideshows, movies, etc. I already know how to use a program called Toon Boom better than my dad and his buddies. To get ready for the trip I finished my final exams on Wednesday so I could stay home Thursday to get ready. It went good, my freshman year of high school wasn’t that bad, I actually enjoyed it.

Some new things that have happened to me is that I got some braces, right before Halloween! I couldn’t believe it! Sometimes mom plans things right in the way of my personal enjoyment; candy! Oh well, they aren’t so bad now, I am actually used to them. I should get them off sometime next year… I hope.

We left the house about 4:30 pm yesterday and set off on our very long, and hopefully fun, RV adventure. We brought lots of cool stuff, board games, movies, laptops, music, our DS pokemon games, and of course the DSs. I got Jon and myself the new pokemon games, HeartGold and SoulSilver. Josh and Dan now own our old Pearl and Diamond games. We are stocked up for the trip. Oh yeah almost forgot our new navigator, a GPS. I learned to use it and was able to get us to a safe place to sleep last night; if you call a truck stop/ casino a safe place. J Well it was a good night if the casino light didn’t keep shining in my face.

This morning we woke up around 7:30am and got ready. Us kids then surprised our dad with his VERY early father’s day gift. We got him a Ukulele, a ukulele songbook, and cords to his favorite ukulele song, “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”. We left around 9:00 am because dad was messing around with his new instrument. I took lots of pictures of him playing and singing in his jamies. On the road we saw like 50 or so motorcycles passing by. Dad made a joke saying “I guess crab season in Alaska is over” I laughed and added, “they must be going to Hatch, NM for the Chile season!” Well I am enjoying myself and so is everyone else. I can’t wait to get to Zion again, we are going to hike there longer because it was very enjoyable the last time we passed through. If you don’t remember it you can see it in last year’s blog trip.

I am very excited about this trip, after we get back I am going to try out for basketball and maybe even be accepted to a program called Young Women in Computing. I sent a form on why I should go, you know the drill, work real hard, get opportunity, work harder to get work done, send in form, wait for response. Well I am going to take some more pictures now, I would type more but the camera is calling out to me!
