Last night we were supposed to sleep near the Grand Canyon; Gallup decided that it loved us too much and called us back to New Mexico. Gallup also had a strange way of bringing us back, it blew up one of our back tires! We were just entering Arizona when our back tire blew up and took lots of other stuff with it! I was sitting in between Mom and Dad in the front of the RV reading a book to them on Mom’s new Kindle. All of a sudden we heard a BOOM!!! POP!!! that sounded just like it did in the movies or games when you blew up a tire. I then looked back and saw smoke gushing out from under the fridge into Jonathan’s face (Jonathan likes to play his DS right in front of the fridge). We pulled over and looked around. There was an explosion area around the popped tire and I mentioned to dad, “Well, the family vacation has now started. He He.”
We slowly picked up the wreckage and I mentioned that some smoke came out from under the fridge, than mom found out the fridge was busted. Seems like the loads of wires that was torn out was connecting to the fridge, step, and maybe some other things we haven’t found yet. If you want to know what our RV looks like right now, I will describe it. Our RV looks like a regular yellow Yellowstone 30 footer except for the broken step, bent exhaust pipe, ghetto style wire style (it is powering the fridge until we get some place to really work on it), and a back tire that is smaller than all the others (the spare tire was smaller than what it should have been.)
Lets just say that we have had a rough time, but hey as we say, “Our family vacation doesn’t start till something gets broken!” I guess we were lucky because it started on the second day from being away from our house. Everyone is still in a good mood, Dad has done a very good job of not letting this problem get in the way of having fun. You should read his blog, it is very funny and shows what he thinks of this situation. We DID get to stay in a nice RV park and charge everything up though. We also were allowed to take showers without worrying about the water to run out. I got to charge everything last night to be ready for today! Last night all three of my brothers were playing Pirates of the Caribbean Life, Joshua was Jack Sparrow, Daniel was Commodore Norington, and Jonathan was Pintle or something like that. Jonathan (13) ended up with the Black Pearl first, than Joshua (7) raided and won the Peal back from Jonathan (Josh is Jack Sparrow so the Black Peal IS his) but then later Jonathan got Joshua drunk (it was on a card) and traded ships with him. Then Daniel (6) raided Jonathan and got the Black Peal. In the end the youngest got the Peal. Joshua won with $15,850, Daniel with $12,800, Jonathan with $100. I guess the oldest lost all to the younger pirates.
This morning was fun as well, I woke up to Joshua asking “Can I play Pokemon?” I got up and got him his new Pearl version to play. For breakfast Joshua had rice crispies with some berries in it, mom put some honey on it instead of sugar and Josh said, “YUMMY!!!” than he tasted it and said “YUCKY!” I told him if he didn’t finish his food, I would play MY pokemon game and he would be left without anything to play. We left the park a little while ago and are now parked in front of this tire place so we could get some new tires.
WELCOME TO THE 2010 STEELE FAMILY VACATION!!!!!
